Joshua Adam Garcia, known professionally as Chef Jag, is an uncompromising chef who is passionate about food. A former United States Marine, Chef Jag attended The New York Restaurant School while working the New York restaurant circuit in the early 2000's. He was a military field Chef and graduate of The Quartermasters culinary academy of Ft. Lee Virginia.

A classically trained chef with over 30 years experience in the kitchen Chef Jag offers his experience in Latin Fusion cuisine spotlighting culinary creations heightened by classical French and traditional Italian influenced Hispanic flavors.

 

After attending Culinary School in NYC, He trained for 2 years as a Sous Chef under renowned Italian Cuisine Chef Marcello Russodivito, in fine dining, in both Suffern New York and the historical  Ho-Ho-Kus inn. He operated several restaurants concepts in North Carolina as a fine dining Executive Chef before relocating to Tampa, Florida after Food Network.  

In 2007 Chef Jag was a Top finalist and stand out contestant on the Next Food Network Star's season 3. He was 1 of 2 remaining of 11 culinary finalists selected nationally to compete for their own show on Food Network.  Today he is an avid guest chef and culinary personality for various wine and food festivals and continues to enjoy exploring trending food styles, Craft Beer, fine wine and the up and coming restaurant scene.

He coordinates recipes, culinary instruction, and restaurant consultation for various restaurant concepts and non-profit organizations and was a featured finalist on favorite Chef in 2025.  He is currently the senior Corporate Executive Chef for Davanti Restaurant group with various up coming concepts in Orlando Florida including Fire Flii, Blue Cost Burrito and Davanti wine Lounge at Society in Orlando, Fl. 

 

A dedicated family man, when Jag isn’t on the road or spicing things up in Kitchen, he enjoys spending time with his children, coaching wrestling or writing music. Today, he resides with beautiful wife Layla Ahmad Garcia and 3 children Canaan Antonio, Avah Sarai and Noah Mikael.  He is a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Todd Cutler of Fight Sports Daytona and a multi-art Yudansha of traditional Japanese martial arts.
